Cordata Gallery is proud to present From My Point of View, the gallery's second collaboration with the Women Painters of Washington—an esteemed all-female collective founded in 1930. This exhibition explores the unique ways artists perceive and interpret the landscapes and spaces around them, whether through sweeping vistas, intimate natural details, or abstract impressions of the world. Through diverse styles, colors, and techniques, each artist brings to life the beauty, mood, and energy of the world as they experience it, offering a rich and personal exploration of place.
Each artist presents a unique perspective on their surroundings, shaped by personal experience, memory, and emotion. Some works celebrate the beauty of untouched nature, while others reflect urban landscapes, fleeting moments of light, or the changing seasons. Whether realistic or abstract, serene or dynamic, these pieces invite viewers to see the world through the artist’s eyes and consider how place influences perception.
At its heart, From My Point of View is about the relationship between the artist and their environment. How do we interpret what we see? How does a familiar landscape take on new meaning through an artist’s vision? This exhibition encourages reflection on the ways our surroundings shape our identity, creativity, and sense of connection to the world.
At Cordata Gallery, we believe in the power of art to inspire and connect us to the world around us. From My Point of View offers a fresh look at the places we know and love, as well as those we have yet to explore. As you take in this exhibition, we invite you to find a piece that speaks to you—one that could bring a new perspective into your own home environment.
The opening reception will take place on April 5, from 2 to 4 PM. The exhibition will run through June 7, 2025.
