Color and Line: An Exploration by Three NW Artists

Renee Noelle Cheesman, Johannes Kunst, David Syre

Opening: October 5, 3-5 PM

Exhibition: October 5, 2024 - January 25, 2025

Cordata Gallery is proud to present Color and Line: An Exploration by Three NW Artists, a captivating group exhibition showcasing the work of renowned local artists Renee Noelle Cheesman, Johannes Kunst, and David Syre. This exhibition brings together an extraordinary selection, featuring rare pieces from the estate of Johannes Kunst, over 100 of David Syre’s dynamic drawings, and a site-specific installation created exclusively for the gallery by Renee Noelle Cheesman, together with her vibrant paintings on canvas.

While these artists come from different backgrounds, they share a profound appreciation for color and linework, which is beautifully reflected in the diverse works on display. Color and Line offers a unique exploration of how each artist approaches the flat surface in their own creative way—whether through the rhythmic precision of Johannes Kunst’s graphic designs, David Syre’s intuitive and spontaneous linework, or the organic forms and vibrant palettes that define Renee Noelle Cheesman’s work.

Cordata Gallery is thrilled to highlight the spontaneity and vision of the local art community. Each artwork in this exhibition is available for acquisition, offering collectors the opportunity to support these talented Northwest artists and to enrich their own collections.

The opening reception will take place on October 5, from 3 -5 PM. The exhibition will run through January 25, 2025.
